Victor Andrade is a photographer since 1974. Worked 5 years at the newspaper Jornal da Semana in São Paulo, where started as a professional photographer, then became a free lancer photographer. Actualy has a studio in S. Paulo where does some works and manage his archive. He also  works as industrial photographer and architeture, and free lance to many magazines.
His personal work is turned to landscapes and nature of Brasil.  In 1985 started this matter with nature, first in black and white (6x6) and after in color (35mm). About it Victor says: Photography is something special to me, is that something one cannot live without. To photograh is an important activity and photography has take me to nature, searching new landscapes,  adventures  and self knowledge. This work has led me to travel all over Brasil and its diversity of landscapes, the land, the people, vegetation and wildlife. It is a fantastic country as big and complex like a continent. Virtualy several countries in one.He has a project to do a book “Visions of Nature in Brasil”, and other about “Serra da Mantiqueira”  This black and white photographs were taken between 1986 and 1999. They are part of the Serra da Mantiqueira project. When I went to this small city in mantiqueira’s mountains named Monte Verde, in Minas Gerais, I realized how fragile it was. It was almost a virgin region but in short time the city grew up pushed by a increase number of tourists. The progress runs so fast, and many new hotels and shopings apeared. In 1988 I did an exibition at “ Centro Cultural de São Paulo” showing part of this pictures. I wrote there : "- This work came from my interest in nature. The search that people who live in the big cities has for the country. Searching for peace and beauty of woods, rivers and mountains, I reach this small town named Monte Verde in 1982, in Serra da Mantiqueira, a high of mountain where you can see the valley. Carring a Hasselblad, tripod, films and filters, I walked through the city and vincinity, taking photographs, and feeling the climate and beauty of this region. I’ve been back there many other times and I could see the sudenly growth of village, many more tourists, and the lost of its caracteristics as a calm and peacefull place, surrounded by many natural beauties. But is still a pleasant place. And I hope this wil be for a long time."
